A Councillor at Nyakatuntu village in Kyerwa District, Ms Hasanath
Mzaiyana, told the ‘Sunday News’ yesterday that the wilt, which started
at her plantation months ago has already destroyed her four acres of
crop. “We fear because this has already brought hunger and infection
also spreading very fast through air.
When we cut down one plant that is infected, once the panga is lifted
up, it immediately affects another,” she said. But she said they have
started moving around the affected villages to educate people on the
